In this video, Dr. Berg talks about the early detection of the “silent” liver cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is scar tissue of the liver. It all starts with insulin resistance from consuming alcohol, high carb diet, junk foods, sugar, frequent eating, drugs and even a virus. Insulin resistance could also cause a lot of inflammation from high levels of insulin which could also make it worse. The combination of a fatty liver and inflamed liver could cause scar tissue that could lose the function. He also talked about how insulin resistance is associated with diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity and cirrhosis.

Categories of Cirrhosis:
1. Compensated Cirrhosis – Where the body is compensating, there is no symptoms.
2. Decompensated Cirrhosis – This is where you start experiencing all the symptoms.

Symptoms of Liver Cirrhosis:

• Ascites – Fluid filled sac around the mid-section.
• Gynecomastia – breast tissue
