In this video, Dr. Berg talks about vegetables and bloating on ketogenic diet. When you have digestive issues while on ketogenic diet, there are certain vegetables you need to avoid. FODMAD, or Fermentable Oligo-di-mono-Saccharides and Polyols, is a certain type of vegetables and sugar alcohols that don’t digest very well. He also talks about what vegetables are good to consume until the digestive system could build up and develop all the friendly bacteria.

Good to Consume Vegetables:
• Bean Sprouts
• Green Beans
• Bok Choy
• Bell Pepper
• Carrot
• Herbs
• Cucumber
• Lettuce
• Tomato
• Zucchini
• Eggplant
• Radish
• Squash

We want to talk about vegetables and bloating. A lot of people have digestive issues, sometimes its gas, bloating, constipation when they consume vegetables. So here’s what I recommend, there are certain vegetables that you need to avoid. There is something called FODMAD or Fermentable Oligo-di-mono-Saccharides and Polyols, you don’t need to know that, all you need to know is there are certain types of vegetables and sugar alcohols that don’t digest very well. So very simply all you have to do is only consume these vegetables, bean sprouts, green beans, bok choy, bell pepper, carrot, herbs, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, zucchini, egg plant, radish, and squash. Now you would consume these for a period of time, several months until your system can build up and develop all the friendly bacteria to actually increase that risk to other types of vegetables. But this is a very key point because if you bloat on keto and you are getting constipation, you are not gonna lose weight. It is not a healthy thing and it could create more inflammation. Definitely focus on these vegetables and I think it will give you a lot more relief. Thanks for watching!
